BROCK TAKES ON THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE

“BRRRR” said Broxtowe’s Mascot ‘Brock the Badger’ after he completed the Ice Bucket Challenge yesterday, witnessed by Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Stan Heptinstall MBE as a special thank you to two of the Council’s Retirement Living Officers who raised a fantastic £637 completing the challenge themselves.

Angela Buckley and Carol Holmes completed the Ice Bucket Challenge on Thursday 11th September at Greenwood Court, Chilwell to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and have been overwhelmed by the support they received.

They decided to raise money for the charity after they discovered they had both lost their brothers to the disease at an early age and wanted to help raise awareness and fund raise to help those who affected by the disease.

As Retirement Living Officers, Angela and Carol can usually be found supporting residents at the Council’s Retirement Living Schemes, ensuring they are comfortable, happy and healthy in their homes.
